About Heracleides life we ??know little. Diogenes Laertes [215] informs about it a lot of anecdotal information and almost no facts. Anyway, it is known that Heracleides born in the first half of a TV. BC. e. in Heraclea - Greek colony in Asia Minor coast of the Black Sea (Pontus), then I came to Athens, where he joined the Academy, becoming a disciple Speusippus, Plato's successor at the school. It is unknown whether he found himself living in Plato; chronological considerations that, in any event, contrary to the ne. At the same time he was studying at the Academy, apparently communicated with the Pythagoreans, and later listened as Aristotle. Judging by the evidence of later authors (Cicero), as a philosopher, he remained a Platonist, a number of points, however, significantly deviating otortodoksalnogo Platonism.
